The Teológiai Fórum editorial board is responsible for the publication of scientific papers and studies in the domains of theology, religious education and ecclesiastical ministry. The editorial office is currently unable to remunerate authors for submitted articles; however, they will receive an honorary copy of the issue in which their article is published.
The Teológiai Fórum is published biannually (in June and December), with no deadline for submissions, but articles submitted before 1 March are published in the first issue and those submitted before 1 September in the second. Authors are kindly requested not to include their names in the manuscript sent to the editorial office, to spell-check the text and to prepare it according to the following form and content requirements:
The text must be accompanied by an English abstract of at least 10 lines, including the English title of the article and at least five keywords. The abstract should be accompanied by a one-line description of the author (academic title, workplace, occupation) and an email address.
Articles in English or German will only be accepted if the author includes a statement from a recognised editor that the article has been peer-edited and is suitable for publication in academic language.
The text should be clearly structured, with titles that present the relationship between the main title and the subheading and their rank in a logical way. Excessive formatting of the main text should be avoided (only the necessary highlights in italics should be used). Titles do not need to be formatted, and their rank can be inferred from the numbering.
Quotations in Hungarian should always be included in the main text in Hungarian, and the original version of the quotation should be footnoted. Quotations within quotations are indicated by “”.

It is imperative that each edited manuscript has an abstract of between 250 and 350 words.

The text should be in a normal, single-spaced font (12-point Times New Roman). All Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic, Syriac and Coptic languages should also be in Times New Roman font. The text of the article should not exceed 50,000 characters.

Writing Hebrew and Ancient Greek words
The Bwhebb (BibleWorks) font is used for Hebrew words and the Bwgrkl (BibleWorks) font is used for Greek words. The size of the Bwhebb font is 16 points for the main text and 12 points for footnotes. Biblical Hebrew text should be punctuated, except for verbs in dictionary form. Hebrew and Aramaic Judaic source texts may be given without punctuation.
In Greek words and proper nouns, the Greek letters are transcribed phonetically, i.e. in Hungarian letters according to their phonetic value, when writing about theological, philosophical, historical, literary, etc. objects of ancient Greek culture. We do not use either the Latinised form (e.g. Didache, Telemachus) or the shortened form (e.g. Homer) of words and proper names in ancient Greek.

When bibliographically describing a study in a collective work, we first give the details of the study: author, title, and then, after the word In, the details of the document containing the study in the usual way. The first and last page numbers of the study are inserted in place of the volume. If the author of the study is the same as the author or editor of the volume, the abbreviated form of the word ‘same’ is used (ibid.).

In the case of publications downloaded from the Internet but not published in print, all bibliographic data in the bibliography should be given in the usual way, followed by a full stop and then the words “- digital publication, available:”. This should be followed by the Internet address, followed by the date of download (= last use) (year, month, day), separated by a comma, followed by the date of download (= last use).
Archival material
Since some of the articles in the Teológiai Fórum are based on archival sources, it is necessary to standardise the way in which archival references are given. It is not enough to give the exact reference of the document used at the level of the bundle or box, but also the title of the fonds.

The abbreviation of the book without a full stop, followed by the number of the book immediately preceding it, also without a full stop: e.g. Matthew, Exodus.
The verse number quoted is separated from the chapter number by a comma: e.g. Gal 1:8.
There are hyphens or dots between verses quoted within a chapter: e.g. Matt 28:1-5, 7, 18-20.
If the quotation refers to more than one chapter or book, the chapters or books are separated by a semicolon: Acts 18:8; 19:29; Romans 16:23.

Acknowledgements
Acknowledgements, grants, projects, foundations, etc. should be placed in a separate section on the front page. The names of funding organisations should be given in full.
References/Reference list
The bibliography should include only those works referred to in the text and published. Personal communications should only be mentioned in the text. Do not use footnotes or endnotes as a substitute for the bibliography.
The bibliography should be listed alphabetically by the first name of the first author of each work.
Journal names and book titles should be in italics.
Tables
Tables should be numbered in Arabic numerals. Tables should always be listed in the text in sequential numerical order. For each table, provide a caption describing the components of the table. Include the original source as a reference at the end of the table caption. Footnotes to tables should be in capital letters and placed below the body of the table.
Guide to book reviews
Book reviews should be submitted in Word format. Book reviews can be written in Hungarian, English or German. Book reviews should be between 500 and 800 words (unless otherwise requested). 2pt, Times New Roman, 1.5 line spacing. Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic, Syriac and Coptic must also be in Times New Roman font.
